The year 2025 has officially become a “gold rush” for Pakistan’s two-wheeler industry. Defying tough economic conditions, the industry rolled out nearly 1.9 million units, marking a massive 35.2% jump compared to the previous year. This recovery is proving to be a vital engine for local industrial growth, benefiting thousands from factory assembly lines to local repair shops.
Inside the Numbers:
- 70cc Dominance: Small, fuel-efficient 70cc bikes remain the undisputed kings, with 1.1 million units sold, a staggering 56% increase in demand as consumers prioritize low running costs.
- The 125cc Segment: Power and style maintained strong momentum, with the 125cc category growing by a solid 32%.
- Top Performers: Atlas Honda saw a healthy 32% growth, selling 1.2 million units in FY25. However, smaller local players stole the spotlight; Unique saw a massive 90% surge, while United Motorcycles grew by 51%, cementing its position as the country’s second-highest selling brand.
Why the Surge? As inflation and fuel prices fluctuate, the average Pakistani consumer is shifting heavily toward affordable and fuel-efficient transportation. Industry veteran Sabir Sheikh notes that this shift proves the resilience of the local market, as many consumers now prefer owning a bike over using outdated public transport or costly ride-hailing services.
