Paksat International and Geespace partner to revolutionize Pakistan's digital landscape via LEO satellites.

Pakistan is set for a digital revolution as Paksat International and China’s Geespace (a subsidiary of Geely Holding) signed a landmark cooperation agreement on Monday, January 26, 2026. This strategic partnership aims to bring advanced satellite-based connectivity to Pakistan and neighboring markets, focusing on bridging the digital divide in underserved regions.Key Highlights of the Partnership:

  • Advanced LEO Technology: The collaboration will leverage Geespace’s Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite network to provide all-weather, high-reliability internet and IoT services.
  • GEESATCOM Constellation: Geespace is building the GEESATCOM constellation, which currently has 64 satellites in orbit following six successful launches between 2022 and 2025.
  • Operational Roles: Under the pact, Paksat will manage policy engagement, spectrum coordination, and regulatory compliance required for commercial operations in Pakistan.
  • Target Areas: The services are specifically tailored for remote and rugged areas, such as mountainous and sparsely populated regions, where traditional fiber cables are difficult or costly to deploy.
  • Industrial Transformation: Beyond consumer broadband, the partnership will support industrial digitalization, cross-regional communications, and serve as a vital backup when terrestrial networks are disrupted.
Geespace CEO Wang Yang stated that the company would provide “high-reliability” services tailored to Pakistan’s unique geographical challenges, positioning the country to strengthen its high-tech ties with China.
