- Nationwide Education: AI curriculum will be mandatorily introduced in all federally run schools, including institutions in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Gilgit-Baltistan, and remote areas of Balochistan.
- Massive Upskilling: A flagship nationwide program will train one million non-IT professionals in AI skills, while separate initiatives will transform existing IT technicians into high-level AI experts.
- Research and Innovation: To build world-class research capacity, the government will award 1,000 fully funded PhD scholarships in AI by 2030.
- Quantum Leap: Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal announced the establishment of new national centers for Quantum Computing, nanotechnology, and new manufacturing this year to keep pace with global disruptors.
Ethical Governance & Global Partnerships
IT Minister Shaza Fatima Khawaja highlighted that the National AI Policy (approved in 2025) provides the framework for responsible and inclusive development. A key outcome of the summit was the Islamabad Declaration on Sovereign AI, which outlines principles for human accountability and data privacy. The initiative has already garnered interest from international partners, including delegations from Saudi Arabia and Türkiye.
