ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s money supply increased by 9.5% during the current fiscal year to date, reaching a record PKR 44.3 trillion, according to a report released by AKD Securities on June 30, 2026.

The report highlighted a 9% increase in private sector credit, indicating continued growth in lending to businesses and the private sector during the period.

Bank deposits also recorded strong growth, rising 8%, while currency in circulation increased 13%, reflecting higher cash demand across the economy.

The development comes as the central bank continues to monitor liquidity conditions in the financial system.

According to market analysts cited in the report, the expansion in money supply could support lending and investment activity. However, they noted that it may require careful policy management to keep inflationary expectations in check.
