22 Dead, 23 Injured as Monsoon Rains and Flash Floods Hit KP.
Flash floods and heavy rains have killed 22 people and injured 23 others in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa since July 19, according to the latest report released by the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA).
The casualties resulted primarily from house collapses and individuals being swept away by surging floodwaters during the ongoing monsoon spell.
Casualty Breakdown
According to the PDMA, the deceased include nine men, 10 children, and three women.
The injured comprise 11 men, five women, and seven children.
Impact on Housing Infrastructure
The severe weather spell has damaged 37 houses across the province:
- Partially Damaged: 29 houses
- Completely Destroyed: 8 houses
Wide Geographical Impact
The affected districts span across multiple regions, including Peshawar, Nowshera, Khyber, Mardan, Buner, Bajaur, Shangla, Swabi, Lower Chitral, Lower and Upper Dir, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Haripur, Tank, Tor Ghar, Kurram, and both North and South Waziristan.
PDMA field teams, in coordination with Rescue 1122 and local district administrations, are actively executing emergency relief operations across the impacted areas.

District authorities have been instructed to accelerate relief delivery and ensure immediate support for affected families.
Despite the heavy rainfall, water levels and flow rates in the province’s major rivers and streams remain within normal, manageable limits.
With intermittent heavy downpours forecast to persist through Thursday, authorities remain on high alert. The public has been strongly advised to limit unnecessary travel, avoid high-risk tourist destinations, and follow official advisories.
