UAE Businessman Appeals To Field Marshal Asim Munir Over Karachi Mosque Land Dispute.

Emirati business tycoon Suhail Mohammad Al Zarooni, Chairman of Al Zarooni Group, has issued an urgent appeal to Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir requesting military intervention to regain control of Masjid-e-Sakina Sultan in DHA Phase 8, Karachi. Originally constructed in 2006 in honor of his late mother, the mosque was allegedly seized by a land grabbing group three years ago. Al Zarooni noted that despite favorable court rulings and prior correspondence sent in 2024 to senior civil, military, and provincial officials including the Corps Commander Sindh, DG Pakistan Rangers Sindh, IG Sindh, Chief Minister, Governor, and DHA authorities no concrete progress has been achieved. Warning that continued inaction and administrative delays risk undermining Emirati investor confidence and future charitable initiatives across Pakistan, Al Zarooni urged the military leadership to step in, resolve the land dispute, and preserve bilateral ties between the UAE and Pakistan.
United Arab Emirates (UAE) business tycoon and Chairman of Al Zarooni Group, Suhail Mohammad Al Zarooni, has expressed deep concern over the failure to recover Masjid-e-Sakina Sultan in DHA Phase 8, Karachi, three years after it was illegally occupied. He made a strong appeal to Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir to play his role in restoring possession of the mosque and further strengthening the friendly relations between Pakistan and the UAE.
In his appeal to Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Suhail Mohammad Al Zarooni recalled that when the mosque was seized three years ago, he had sought assistance at a time when Syed Asim Munir was serving as Chief of Army Staff. However, despite three years having passed, the occupation has not been lifted. According to Suhail Mohammad Al Zarooni, he constructed Masjid-e-Sakina Sultan in 2006 in memory of his late mother in DHA Phase 8.
The Emirati tycoon stated that letters regarding the illegal occupation were sent in 2024 to the Chief of Army Staff, Corps Commander Sindh, DG Pakistan Rangers Sindh, IG Sindh, Chief Minister of Sindh, and Governor of Sindh, but no positive progress was made. He noted that although the honorable court issued orders to hand over possession of the mosque to them, the land-grabbing group repeatedly filed appeals, keeping the matter unresolved. He also raised concerns over why the Defence Housing Authority (DHA) has been delaying action for three years to help restore possession, even though the occupation mafia has also filed a case against DHA itself, making DHA’s silence difficult to comprehend.
Expressing apprehension, Suhail Al Zarooni highlighted that Emirati investors and philanthropists have consistently participated in charitable and social welfare initiatives across Pakistan. He warned that if the illegal occupation of Masjid-e-Sakina Sultan is not ended, it will damage the trust of Emirati businessmen and inevitably impact future philanthropic work in Pakistan.
