The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) registered 4,761 new companies in August 2026, marking the second consecutive month of robust corporate expansion following a record 5,438 registrations in July and lifting the country's total registered corporate base to 311,765 entities. Sectoral growth was spearheaded by information technology with 872 new registrations, followed closely by trading (732), services (601), construction (295), and tourism (232). The newly incorporated ventures comprised 2,762 private limited companies and 1,846 single-member companies, with 99.9% processed entirely online through the SECP's digital portal. Geographically, Punjab led the registrations with 2,547 companies, followed by Islamabad (843), Sindh (702), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (407), Gilgit-Baltistan (151), and Balochistan (111). Furthermore, international investment remained a key highlight, with 134 foreign investors led by 106 from China contributing capital to new startups, alongside three foreign enterprises establishing a direct commercial presence during the month.

The information technology sector led new registrations with 872 companies, followed by trading with 732, services with 601, construction with 295 and tourism with 232.
Of the newly registered entities, 2,762 were private companies while 1,846 were single-member companies. The SECP said 99.9% of registrations were completed online.
Punjab recorded the highest number of new registrations at 2,547, followed by Islamabad with 843, Sindh with 702 and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with 407. Gilgit-Baltistan registered 151 companies, while Balochistan recorded 111.
Foreign investor participation also remained significant, with 134 foreign investors investing in newly registered companies during the month, including 106 Chinese investors. Three foreign companies also entered Pakistan during August.
