In a significant diplomatic and commercial outreach, Pakistan and Bangladesh have stepped up bilateral engagements to deepen regional economic cooperation across the textile and apparel value chains. Pakistan’s High Commissioner to Bangladesh, Imran Haider, held high-level discussions with Mahmud Hasan Khan, President of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), during an official visit to the association's headquarters in Dhaka. The talks centered on executing strategic frameworks under the existing Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between BGMEA and the Pakistan Readymade Garments Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PRGMEA), alongside targeted measures to eliminate cross-border trade friction and lower commercial barriers. A major highlight of the meeting was the formal invitation extended by the BGMEA leadership for Pakistani corporate delegations and textile enterprises to participate in the upcoming Bangladesh Apparel and Textile Exposition (BATEXPO), slated for November 18–19, 2026.
