Digital Revolution 2026: 700,000 Free Chromebooks and Phase-II Laptop Schemes Launched for Students. -

In a massive push towards the Digital Pakistan vision, the federal and provincial governments have officially rolled out a series of landmark initiatives to equip the youth with modern technology.

I. Federal Chromebook & Tablet Distribution

The federal government has announced the distribution of 700,000 Google Chromebooks to students across Pakistan under the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme (PMYP).

Strategic Data Request: The Inter Boards Coordination Commission (IBCC) has already notified all educational boards to provide data for exceptional students in public schools and colleges to ensure transparent distribution.
“Made in Pakistan” Vision: A new assembly line in Haripur is set to produce 500,000 units by late 2026 through a partnership between Google and Tech Valley.
Nationwide Scope: The program is inclusive, covering public/private schools and universities in all provinces, including AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan.

II. CM Punjab Laptop Scheme 2026 (Phase-II)

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has officially opened Phase-II of the provincial laptop scheme with high-performance 13th Gen Core i7 devices.

Registration Deadline: Students must apply by the extended deadline of February 15, 2026.
Eligibility: Undergraduate students in their 1st or 2nd semester of BS programs, and 1st professional year Medical/Dental/Nursing students are eligible.
Merit Thresholds: A minimum of 65% marks in Intermediate is required for BS students, while Medical/Dental students require 80%.
Apply Online: Registration is strictly via the Official Portal; manual applications will not be processed.
