In a significant move to support low-income households during the holy month, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif officially launched the Rs 38 billion Ramadan Relief Package 2026 on February 14, 2026. The initiative represents the largest federal-level effort of its kind, shifting from traditional physical food distribution to a modern, transparent digital system.

Key Highlights of the 2026 Ramadan Relief Package

Direct Cash Assistance: Every eligible family will receive a one-time payment of Rs 13,000, a significant increase from the Rs 5,000 provided in previous years.
Massive Outreach: The program is designed to benefit approximately 12.1 million families across all four provinces, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK).
Digital Distribution: Funds will be transferred directly to beneficiaries through digital wallets, mobile accounts, or bank transfers to ensure transparency and eliminate long queues at utility stores.
Inclusivity: The package covers families already registered with social protection programs like Kafalat (Rs 10 billion allocation) and over 2.1 million unregistered families who meet the poverty criteria (Rs 28 billion allocation).
