Karachi Ramzan 2026: K-Electric & SSGC Announce Zero Load-Shedding During Sehri and Iftar. -

In a major move to facilitate citizens during the holy month, K-Electric has announced a revised power supply strategy for Ramzan 2026. Following directives from the federal government and Sindh’s Chief Minister, the utility will ensure zero load-shedding across Karachi specifically during the peak hours of Sehri and Iftar.

Ramzan 2026 Power Supply Strategy

The Power Division has issued comprehensive Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to all distribution companies (DISCOs), including K-Electric, to prioritize the convenience of fasting consumers:

Uninterrupted Supply: Electricity will remain available nationwide during Sehri and Iftar timings, barring any major unforeseen technical faults.
High-Loss Areas: Even in regions with high electricity theft or low bill recovery, load-shedding will be restricted during peak meal times.
Load Management Shifts: Regular load management schedules for high-loss areas will be shifted to hours outside the sacred timings to prevent arrears and additional system losses.
Dedicated Monitoring: Special control rooms have been established at the DISCO and ministerial levels to monitor all feeders and address complaints in real-time.
