Australian broadcasters opt out of the Lahore T20I series due to late timings and the absence of top stars.

The upcoming three-match T20I series in Lahore is facing a major hurdle as no Australian broadcasters have signed up to air the matches yet. Despite the excitement in Pakistan, several factors are making the series a “hard sell” for international networks. Industry sources indicate that the 10:00 PM AEDT start time is a major deterrent, as it is considered a low-rating slot that fails to attract significant advertising revenue.

Furthermore, the absence of major Australian stars including Glenn Maxwell, Tim David, Pat Cummins, and Josh Hazlewood who are resting to prepare for the upcoming T20 World Cup, has significantly reduced the series’ commercial appeal. While the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has finalized local and some international rights, the lack of coverage in one of cricket’s biggest markets is a setback for the tournament’s global reach.
