KARACHI: The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) ended Thursday’s trading session on a strong note, with the benchmark KSE-100 Index gaining nearly 1,000 points as buying activity spread across major sectors of the market.
Investors showed renewed interest in banking, fertiliser, cement, oil and gas, and technology stocks, driving the market higher after recent fluctuations. Positive sentiment was supported by expectations of improving economic conditions and optimism over the country’s macroeconomic outlook.
According to market analysts, institutional investors led the rally, taking advantage of attractive stock valuations, while retail participation also remained robust. The broad-based gains reflected growing confidence in Pakistan’s equity market.
The benchmark index finished the session firmly in positive territory, with heavyweight companies making significant contributions to the overall advance. Trading volumes remained healthy, indicating sustained investor participation throughout the day.
Analysts said the market’s near-term direction will depend on key economic indicators, corporate earnings, and policy developments. They added that favourable macroeconomic trends and continued investor confidence could support further gains, although external risks, exchange rate movements and global market conditions will remain important factors.
The day’s performance signals improving investor sentiment and reinforces confidence in the PSX as market participants continue to monitor economic developments for future investment opportunities.
