BYD and Mega Motor Company announce that their Gharo NEV assembly plant is in final commissioning, with production scheduled to go live in H2 2026. BYD and Mega Motor Company (MMC) have announced that construction on their state-of-the-art New Energy Vehicle (NEV) assembly plant in Gharo has reached its final stages, with equipment installation and commissioning actively underway. Scheduled to come online in the second half of 2026, the purpose-built manufacturing facility was completed in under 18 months, marking one of the fastest automotive industrial developments of its scale in Pakistan.To ensure complete compliance with BYD’s stringent global manufacturing benchmarks, the project team is currently conducting exhaustive equipment validations, production trials, and quality assurance testing ahead of commercial volume production. The landmark facility is expected to transform Pakistan’s electric vehicle landscape by introducing locally assembled NEVs, reducing import dependencies, and establishing a robust supply chain footprint in the region.

Construction of BYD-Mega Motor Company’s purpose-built NEV assembly factory in Gharo is now in its final stages, with equipment installation and commissioning underway. The plant is scheduled to come online in H2.

Built in under 18 months, the project represents one of the fastest automotive manufacturing developments of its scale in Pakistan.
